More Keiki

So, you ask, 'what does keiki mean?' Well, keiki is the Hawaiian word for children. Anyway, here
are mine decked out in their respective Hawaiian outfits on Christmas eve. I'm sure you've noticed
that the picture is a bit larger than normal. I thought I would try posting a larger picture this time to see how it looks.

Hope Santa was good to you this year!

Well Wishes To All For This Christmas and New Year

My apologies to those of you who have faithfully checked in on my blog and found few updates... It's been pure insanity
here with the new baby and work and visits from family. Ok, I know, it's no excuse. Well, here is my New Year's resolution: to get back up to speed with posting regularly on this lovely little blog.

Anywho, today I finally got out to the mall to get the kids' picture taken with Santa. Too cute for words really. Alina was so nervous about meeting Santa and Drew of course was oblivious to it all. Here's one of the pics they took.

Hickam AFB Fall Craft Fair and New Products

I wanted to thank all those who stopped by my table at last Saturday's Craft Fair at Hickam AFB. The fair
was a great success and a lot of people stopped by to say hello and meet baby Drew.

I have recently revised product offerings and am now offering both postcards with envelopes as well as all final images
from a portrait session on CD. Anyone interested in getting their holiday postcards done should call to book an appointment soon as the last portrait session for postcards will be December 9.

And now the moment you've all been waiting for: the winner of the drawing for the set of 4 photo albums is Lori Howell. A separate e-mail will be going out to winners of the drawing for a complimentary portrait session. Congratulations!!!

Some More Shots of My Newest Little Work of Art

Ok, please excuse my shamelessness in posting these pictures, but I can't help it! I promise it will get better :)

Guess Who's Here!

Introducing Andrew James Wright, Jr. "Drew" was born on October 7, 2006. He weighed in at 8 pounds 6.8 ounces and measured 21 inches.

We are thrilled to have him in our life!

Waimanalo Beach

This couple was a lot of fun to photograph. They even laughed at my jokes!

Anybody Home?

Wow, time really slipped past me this week. Between Alina getting the flu and then yours truly, I haven't had a moment to sit down and post anything to the blog. So far, the second bun in the oven is not cooperating with our grand plans to have him outside and sociable.

Anyway, let me see what interesting photo I can dig up to post today....

Thank You

This is a quick thank you to our friends here in Hawai'i who threw us
an informal baby shower this past weekend in Wailupe. We had a great

A Couple of Romantic Pictures

Krysten and David were married this past spring here in Hawai'i. All in all, it was a lovely wedding
filled with much heartfelt emotion. The photographer, ahem, nearly started crying...

Katie and Todd

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Katie and Todd this past summer. Katie used to
work in Andy's office. Also pictured is the rest of the gang from ISC Honolulu.

All Is Quiet... Perhaps, Too Quiet

Hi folks,

Just checking in to let you know that the baby is still baking. Am I ready yet? No. Feel free to
laugh at any time. But I am thinking of some killer poses and ideas for his announcement. Hopefully,
I will have the energy to execute them once the moment of truth arrives.

Here's another one for your thoughts...

I'm experimenting with composites and thought I'd post a few here for feedback.

Slowing Down

If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you may have noticed my posts slowing down
just a wee bit. Apart from being extremely busy doing portraits, I am also 1 month from
my due date. We're having a boy and very excited about it, but it sure is hard work
getting ready and carrying a big load!

I will continue posting, but not quite as often. I can't wait to post pictures of my 2nd little

Ok, Enough Kids For Now...

This portrait was done at Bellows Beach Park, a place which is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

Happy Family

As promised, here is Nate with his mom and dad. They now live in Alabama while daddy goes to flight school
in nearby Pensacola, FL, and mom has taken the plunge back into the working world. Good luck to the
three of you!

Hanging Out

One more of my good little friend, Nate.

I'm Too Sexy...

I knew that title might get your attention :)

This is little Nate. I had the pleasure of photographing him before he and his parents moved back
to the Mainland. I'll post some more of him with his parents shortly.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend! We've been
pretty busy between taking Alina ice skating for the first time and to her
first soccer match of the season playing for Coach Daddy. Here are a few images
from soccer.

Halona Beach Cove

This portrait was done at the Halona Beach Cove. This little treasure of a beach was where the famous beach scene of "From Here To Eternity" was filmed. Right next to the cove is the famous Halona Blow Hole.

A Little Beach Beauty

From a recent portrait session at Bellows Beach Park at Bellows AFB.

Another Cutie...

Thanks to my friend, Teresa, for allowing me to post these pictures of her adorable daughter. What a great
personality this little munchkin has!

More kiddies...

More images taken last year at my favorite beach with some of my favorite munchkins. I'll have some more to post later, but don't want to throw everything in here at once. I don't want to run out of pictures :)
Have a great weekend!

A Proud Uncle With His Girls

This portrait was done last May at a family reunion in Silver Spring, MD, which is located a mere 30 minutes from Washington, D.C.

No one has been able to identify who the red-headed reunion crasher was in the middle of the picture.

Let's Get the Ball Rolling...

Thought I'd begin posting some kids portraits first. These are the Kemp children. Their dad is stationed at Hickam
Air Force Base and I had the pleasure of photographing their family along with their grandparents and aunts a few months ago. We did their portrait session on Honeymoon Beach at Hickam. Fortunately, we didn't intrude on any lovebirds that day.

Back By Popular Demand

Here's another shot of Sophie by request. I promise I will post people pictures soon!

Oh, What a Beautiful Day!

Probably too cheery of a title, right?! Well, it's not raining and I have heard back from some of my clients that they would
love to have their mug posted on my blog. Hip hip hooray!

So, stay tuned for some fun stuff coming your way.

On a sad note, word came to us from Las Vegas that anyone wishing to get married in the middle of the night will no longer be able to do so. Copy and paste this link to read more about it. Will someone please notify Dracula?

Have a great day and talk to you all soon!

The Holiday Season Is Upon Us...

Believe it or not, I am now booking appointments for the Christmas/Holiday season. I will be offering Christmas cards, and, if there is enough interest, I will be offering coffee table books (with photos from your session) which make great gifts for the family freezing over on the Mainland.

As you all know, I am expecting in early October, so I will be accepting portrait sessions up to the very last moment, and beginning again in November or sooner depending on whether the baby has a change of heart and decides to make his grand entrance early (still plenty of time for Christmas cards). If you are interested in the coffee table books, please book early as the turnaround time will be a little bit longer due to the season and the production time required.

Our First Positive Response!

Sophie, a well-heeled beagle from Baltimore, has graciously accepted my invitation to post her
glamour shot on my humble blog. When not napping or taking long strolls, Sophie enjoys playing
dress up with her sisters, Ellie and Kiki. All of her wardrobe is from Build-A-Bear. What a sophisticated pooch!

Permission to Post Portraits and Copyright

I've sent out an e-mail to my favorite clients asking for their permission to post some
photos from their portrait sessions with me. If I didn't send you an e-mail, it's probably
because I already have your written consent. I anxiously await your responses!

Ok, now for the legal mumbo jumbo...

All images on this site and any other by Gabriella Wright/Red Bird Photography are copyrighted and protected by federal law. It is illegal to copy, save to your computer, claim as your own, add to other websites, or anything else without photographer's permission. If you are caught doing these or anything else not listed, without my written permission, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Phew! Glad I got that out of the way.

Aha! Finally, it worked. Love, love, love this beach. If you are wondering why I don't mention it by name, it's because they
are pretty picky about pros taking pictures out there.

This nifty shot was taken at one of my favorite beaches here in O'ahu. I'm still trying to post a really awesome sunset, so stay tuned for more...

Getting Started...

I've started this blog to share some of my favorite images with friends and family. I will try to post at the very least once a week although with the baby coming fairly soon, there may be times when I won't be able to post quite as regularly as I'd like. Anyway, thanks for looking. Let me know what you think once this really gets rolling!
